Classic arcade shooter The House of the Dead is getting a remake — but only on Nintendo Switch. At least, that's the official word. The remake was announced roughly one whole year ago, and it's set to release in just a few days, on the 7th April. But in a surprise twist, it looks like the remake could also be shuffling to PlayStation 4.
As spotted by a Reddit user, The House of the Dead Remake has appeared on PlayStation Network servers, which suggests that an announcement could be imminent. Hopefully we get some confirmation soon, because we wouldn't mind blasting through this on-rails ride again.

I imagine this would actually play best as a PSVR game
Ahh shoot I forgot this was coming out. Lego Star Wars Moss Book 2 supposedly Lucky's Tale for PSVR and now this all in one week. My wallet is really feeling this.
I was coming to say the same thing. It’s exactly what I’d love from a VR game. All those 90’s light gun games would be quality in VR.
Time Crisis needs to come back too.
I love Time Crisis and Virtua Cop
How feasible would it be to include a "VR arcade" mode, where you are not actually thrown into the game, but would instead stand in front of an arcade machine and play the game "classic style" instead? 🤔
I think it would probably require the Move controller for PS4 wouldn't it? Not sure how this would control otherwise.... maybe like Corpse Killer's port for PS4 which well.... its controls were never good.
Awesome games that are perfect for VR and for motion controllers in general.
I want a lightgun for this one, or at least I hope the game is compatible with switch joycons ir.
Haha I literally just finished the trophies on House of the Dead 3.
Would be phenomenal in VR, but wouldn’t turn my nose up at a flat window game with motion controls.
I'm hoping for a PC port so I can use my Sinden Lightgun but if this came to PSVR it'd be pretty special
I bought 2 move controllers to play this back in PS3. Don’t think they are compatible with my Ps5 though
This needs VR support!
I knew this wasn't just gonna stay on Switch! That would have been just plain dumb.
@helbertpina a game in a game. I LOVE this idea!
Now I’m imagining a whole new Namco Museum type game where you can walk around in the arcade to play the games and not just pick them from a menu (although that would of course be an option too.)
Wish a console maker would partner with Sinden, vrs great and all but love me a good lightgun
If it uses ps move controller I'll be switching to buying the ps4 version (also a perfect franchise for vr)
This only seems to be a good idea in VR, otherwise not sure how it would come across well with the controls. Frankly, I'm surprised we haven't gotten old arcade shooter collections in VR. It seems like the prefect fit.
Awesome to have one less Switch exclusive game. Bring it on!
Don't forget the Point Blank series. Some of the best 2-player party games I've ever experienced, and hilarious to boot.
Makes getting the Switch ver pointless to me now. Will wait for this.
@Uncharted2007
I was thinking the same. A controller wouldnt feel the same as a lightgun. Unless they put effort into the motion control aspect of aiming.
@helbertpina I love this idea
Bring back Mad Dog McCree
